All self-managed superannuation funds have an annual audit requirement imposed by legislation and administered by the ATO. This annual audit is in two parts, financial statement audit and audit of compliance with the applicable legislation. Our audit reports are not lodged directly with the ATO but are supplied to the trustees or their advisors and completion noted in the annual SMSF return lodged with the ATO. Legislation requires us during the course of our audit to notify the ATO by lodging a contravention report containing details of any significant non-compliance or potential non-compliance noted during the audit.
